BEACH & BAY COTTAGE TOUR SNEAK PEEK #3

(Bethany Beach, DE, May 22, 2026): (Editor’s Note: This is the third in a series of previews of the ten homes that will be on display during the 34th Beach & Bay Cottage Tour to be held virtually July 12 through August 2 and, for 8 preselected homes, in-person on July 22 and July 23.)

The owners wanted to find a vacation destination that could serve as their future retirement home. They selected the Bay Forest Club community for its impressive amenities, proximity to the beach, and convenient distance from their primary residence. They chose a spacious corner lot with bay and woodland views, and the home was completed in 2024.

The owners embraced the opportunity to create a residence that was very different in style, décor, and color palette from their primary home.  They describe their new home as having “strong Craftsman architecture softened with coastal finishes.”  In keeping with its tradition, the home showcases timeless woodwork, board-and-batten cabinetry, and open, uncluttered spaces. Wide wainscoting decorates the open living room and a coffered ceiling highlights the upstairs family room.  Off-white walls unify the interior spaces, with accents of pale green, blue, and gray tones that shift with sunlight.  Warm neutrals, cool navy, and subtle patterns give the structured furnishings a welcoming, coastal feel.

In keeping with their love of the outdoors, the homeowners took full advantage of the outside space surrounding their home. They have an open front and back porch, a screened side porch, a dining porch and a grilling deck.  The owners acknowledge this is where they spend most of their time in warmer weather.  Cushioned seating, a large TV, beverage fridge, lighting, and wood-planked ceilings with overhead fans create a space that is ideal for both large gatherings and quiet solitude.

The owners have carefully established a home designed for family enjoyment, relaxation, and the creation of lasting memories. They plan to continue enhancing their residence in the coming years with items that matter to them.

This is just one of the outstanding properties that will be viewed by those who purchase tickets for the 34th Beach & Bay Cottage Tour. This week’s home is one of the 8 homes on the 34th Tour that will be available for in-person tours by holders of Combo tickets. And, like all 10 homes on the 2026 Tour, this home will also be available to be seen virtually by holders of both Combo and Virtual tickets. Each of the 10 homes will feature a professionally produced video which will offer Tour patrons an opportunity to view each home as often as they want from anywhere during the three-week virtual tour period. Special features include bird’s-eye drone video footage and the ability to view the Tour on any internet-enabled device.

The 34th Beach & Bay Cottage Tour is proudly presented by Leslie Kopp and The Leslie Kopp Group, and this home is also sponsored by Platinum Sponsor Natelli Homes LLC.
