The South Coastal Library in Bethany Beach is the 100% beneficiary of net proceeds of
the Beach & Bay Cottage Tour. Books, classes, concerts, programs, technology and
much more are provided with the funds.
The Library and the Bethany Beach and surrounding area benefits:
Funds $35,000 of virtual and in-person events, classes, lectures, concerts, & more, for all ages—your donations pay all the fees
Invests in extra copies of high-demand adult books via McNaughton and award-winning children’s books through Junior Library Guild.
Provides AWE children’s computers—stuffed with fun learning activities on math, literacy, science and more
Helps outfit the Maker Space events with trending craft equipment & supplies—walk in with an idea, walk out with a new project
Provides free in-house access to Ancestry.com
Contributes over $13,000 to the state-wide library e-catalog—download/stream free books, audios and movies with your card
Makes available 200 copies of BookPage for library patrons monthly
Maintains a public photocopier
Funds the School Partnership Program, bringing interactive children’s events to the local Lord Baltimore Elementary School and the Early Learning Center, this year providing teachers and children with their own copies of books as well as meeting with the author
New - Home access to Newspapers.com online for South Coastal Library card holders.
There are 10 homes on this year’s Tour. You can experience this year’s Tour in two ways. With the purchase of a VIRTUAL Ticket, you get to view all 10 homes from the comfort of your own home. With the purchase of a COMBO Ticket, you not only get to see all 10 homes virtually, but you also get to visit 7 of the 10 homes In Person. (The 7 In-Person homes have been preselected by the Tour Committee/Homeowners.)

COMBO Cottage Tour Tickets are $50.00 and are available for purchase ONLINE ONLY at any time through July 24 at noon.
Combo tickets are limited to 1,000 tickets and include both an In-Person ticket and a Virtual ticket for the 2025 Beach & Bay Cottage Tour. The In-Person ticket may be used on both days; Wednesday, July 23 and Thursday, July 24 limited to a one-time visit per home.

You must come to the Library at 43 Kent Avenue, Bethany Beach, DE 19930 to get your tour book. The tour booklet is your ticket. We recommend you write your name and telephone number on your booklet should you misplace it during the tour.

No, the barcode might be used in the future, but the non-profit organization has not had the funds to purchase barcode readers. The booklet is your official ticket to obtain entrance to the in-person homes. We recommend you write your name and telephone number on your booklet should you misplace it during the tour.
Although we very much appreciate the value of service animals, we have promised the home owners that no animals will enter their homes. These are private homes and not public buildings. We have to be mindful of the health of the home owners who may have allergies and don't normally permit animals in their homes. We ask that you have someone stay with your service animal outside the home while you tour the inside.
