South Bethany Canal Front Do-Over

After five years in their home, the Owners concluded that their Cape Cod beach cottage was in need of a facelift to accommodate their need for more living space and storage. When deciding whether to renovate or move, the Owners chose to stay because of the congeniality of their close-knit South Bethany neighborhood and their prime canal front location.

They began the two-year project by raising the original home and setting it on a new foundation with a redesigned entry, expanded storage and a popular outdoor entertainment area. The entire interior space above was then completely updated and expanded with new flooring, windows, doors, walls, electric and lighting. The second level is now designated for their kids with three guest bedrooms, a communal lounge and deck. The upper level includes the expanded open living area with an enlarged kitchen and primary bedroom suite.

With the heart of the original cottage still tucked inside, the result is a unique and seamless blend of new construction and renovation that fulfills the family’s growing needs. Just as importantly it allows them to remain on what they’re sure is “the best street in South Bethany!”

This week’s home is one of the 6 homes on the 32nd Tour that will be available for in-person tours by holders of Combo tickets. And, like all 10 homes on the 2024 tour, this home will also be available to be seen virtually by holders of both Combo and Virtual tickets. Each of the 10 homes will feature a professionally produced video which will offer Tour patrons with an opportunity to view each home as often as they want from anywhere during the three-week virtual tour period. Special features include bird’s-eye drone video footage and the ability to view the Tour on any internet-enabled device.

Combo tickets are $50 and Virtual-only tickets are $35. Combo tickets are strictly limited to 1,000 tickets and may be used either day of the tour, with a single entry permitted to each home.
